STAFF APPOINTMENTS

Kelly Morton – Deputy Principal
We are pleased to announce Kelly Morton as the new Deputy Principal at Macquarie
College.

Kelly brings over 18 years of experience in Adventist education, including key
leadership roles at Avondale School such as Assistant Head of Primary and Stage 3
Coordinator. Her leadership has spanned student wellbeing, inclusive education, staff
development and whole-school coordination. She also holds a Master’s degree in
Counselling and has served as a Child Safe Advocate, equipping her with a strong
foundation in pastoral care and student support.

As Deputy Principal, Kelly’s vision is to lead with integrity, empathy, and
purpose-building a school culture where students and staff feel supported,
empowered, and inspired to grow. She is passionate about creating a Christ-centered
learning environment that nurtures the whole person and reflects the grace and love of
Jesus in everyday school life.

Kelly is a past parent of Macquarie College, and she brings a deep personal connection
to the Macquarie College community. Her leadership is marked by authenticity,
emotional intelligence and a commitment to servant leadership.

Michael Hosken – Head of Primary
We are pleased to announce Michael Hosken as the new Head of Primary at Macquarie
College.

Michael brings a decade of experience in Adventist education, most recently serving as
Assistant Head of Primary at Avondale School. His leadership has spanned student
wellbeing, inclusive education, staff development and school operations. He has also
served as Stage 3 Coordinator and Year 6 teacher, giving him a strong foundation in
both classroom practice and strategic leadership.

As Head of Primary, Michael’s vision is to lead with clarity, compassion and purpose,
creating a Christ-centred learning environment, where students flourish academically,
spiritually, socially and emotionally. He is committed to empowering staff, partnering
with families and fostering a culture of excellence and care across the Junior School.
Michael is a former student of Macquarie College and maintains strong ties to the
college and local Adventist community. His return to the College in this leadership role
reflects both professional dedication and personal connection.

Linda Breese – Assistant Head of Primary (Wellbeing)
We’re pleased to announce Linda Breese as the new Assistant Head of Primary
(Wellbeing) at Macquarie College.

Linda brings over two decades of experience in Adventist education, both in Australia
and the United States. Most recently, she has served as Acting Director of MCX
Wellbeing (Junior School), where she has led with compassion, clarity, and a strong
commitment to student care.

Her leadership is grounded in Christian values and a deep personal faith, which she
actively models in her professional life. Linda works closely with staff, students, and
families to foster a positive school culture, and she brings practical insight from her
classroom experience to support wellbeing and discipline across the Junior School.

We’re excited to welcome Linda into this role and look forward to the continued impact
of her thoughtful and values-driven leadership.

 

Jonathan Roennfeldt – Head of Secondary School
We are pleased to announce Jonathan Roennfeldt as the new Head of Secondary
School at Macquarie College.

Jonathan is a highly experienced educator and leader, with a long-standing commitment
to Adventist education and student wellbeing. He has held a range of leadership roles at
Macquarie College, including Acting Director of Wellbeing, House Leader of Dobell,
Year Advisor and Coordinator of Religious Studies and Bible. His academic expertise is
further reflected in his role as a HSC Senior Marker for Studies of Religion with NESA.

Jonathan brings a thoughtful and values-driven approach to leadership, fostering
learning environments where students are encouraged to explore faith, think critically,
and grow both personally and academically. His deep understanding of pastoral care,
combined with his collaborative leadership style, makes him well placed to guide the
Secondary School into its next chapter.

Nathaniel (Nate) Miller – Assistant Head of Secondary
We’re pleased to announce Nate Miller as the new Assistant Head of Secondary at
Macquarie College.

Nate brings over a decade of experience in teaching and educational leadership, with a
strong background in both wellbeing and curriculum development. He has held key
roles including Head of Wellbeing (Years 7–12), Stage 6 Leader and Student
Leadership Coordinator at Belmont Christian College, where he led strategic initiatives
that strengthened student care, engagement, and leadership.

Since joining Macquarie College, Nate has served as Leader of Learning: Humanities,
coordinating a large team across English, HSIE, Languages and driving curriculum
renewal and staff development.

Nate’s leadership is grounded in his Christian faith and a commitment to holistic
education. His experience across wellbeing, teaching and strategic planning positions
him well to support the continued growth and direction of the Secondary School.
