Bookface!

Recently, in Junior School, students have been having some fun in the library with ‘bookface’. Bookface is an activity where students strategically choose a book and then line the cover up with their face (or another body part) to give the impression of a melding of life and art. We know that at about Year 5, many students begin to drop off in their reading for various reasons. Students who continue to read past this age see it as a social activity and their peers have the biggest influence on what they are choosing to read. This is where activities like book clubs and ‘bookface’ challenges can help our students begin to love reading again.
