MCXUN students spent some of their time learning about the Angkor Empire in history this term. Through their learning they were able to draw important connections between their own personal interests and the lives of people from the past. While exploring theories regarding the empire’s decline, students made connections to the climate pressures experienced both then and today, recognising the importance of our current decisions and actions.
Students selected an area of expertise to guide their peers in learning. In the photos you can see some student-led and designed activities to demonstrate elements of the Khmer religion, trading and social systems. Student projects for this term will be displayed to MCXUN parents at a Showcase evening in the last week of Term 2. More details will follow.
