Macquarie College Foundation investing in children and their community

Dr David Fox is coming up to his first anniversary as a Director of the Macquarie College Foundation, and reflects on his time with the Foundation, connection with the College, and hopes for the future. David attended Avondale School, and is currently the Head of Research at Farnam Investments.
“I joined the Foundation Board in 2017 because I saw this as a great opportunity to contribute to the school, which provides a great education and so much more for my children”.
Since joining the Foundation Board, David’s helped to guide discussions regarding the review and long-term management of the Foundation’s investment portfolio while assisting with the formation of the strategies for the Stage 3 Sport & Recreation Centre Fundraising Campaign.
“My children James and Sophie are excited about their school and love learning from their excellent teachers and wonderful peers. The new Sport & Recreation Centre is a beautiful facility for the children attending Macquarie College, and it will also prove to be a valuable resource for members of the broader community. “
When time permits, David is an active swimming, surfer and mountain bike rider. “Completing Stage 3 of the Sport & Recreation Centre will create more participation opportunities because many people will have a multitude of wonderful opportunities to engage in health and wellbeing activity, of which I am a strong believer.”
Throughout 2018 and in to 2019, the Foundation is taking a purposeful approach to connecting with the modern College community. Since its establishment in 1990, the Foundation has developed a strong financial base. Moving forward the Directors and Staff are working hard to raise awareness among families and College Alumni about giving programs, investing in Campus facilities, and continuing to build Foundation reserves in order to return high quality services and resources for the benefit of today’s community and for generations to follow.
