2015 HSC Performances Acknowledged
January 10, 2016
Macquarie College is extremely proud of the 2015 HSC results achieved by our Year 12 cohort, they are exceptionally good results again and so we can be well proud of this 2015 HSC Class.
The results overall placed Macquarie College 88th in the state just marginally behind Merewether High School and Newcastle Grammar School and so with an overall position of third among all schools in the Hunter Region. This continues to confirm our long standing academic position within the region.
Zoe Barton was our Dux with an ATAR of 99.05 and was also the recipient of the NSW All Rounders Award, achieving all Band 6 results for subjects undertaken. Those who know her will also remember that she was the NSW State Tennis Captain who played competitive tennis at the Nationals. Zoe is a very talented young lady who has travelled a little under the radar. A very unassuming young lady but one whose family and school can be justly proud.
The HSC Class and their respective teachers are deserving of our highest accolades this year. Interestingly, you will notice that a large majority of this class have been at the College since Kindergarten. So clearly, we need to also thank all staff who have been a part of the journey with these students through their Macquarie College experience.
While this is the time of year that as a College community we celebrate our academic success, our core mission and wholistic approach to the goals of Christian education remains and will continue to be so. It is just wonderful to be a part of an educational community where young people can learn and mature in such an environment while achieving academically at the highest levels within the region. This is again a very proud time for all of us as members of the Macquarie College community.
