New Beginnings, New Opportunities
The 2015 College year is now underway with a great sense of purpose, energy and enthusiasm. With a stable student enrolment and specialist teaching staff who are fully engaged in the art of teaching and learning, coupled with impressive HSC results placing the College in the top 200 schools in NSW again and 3rd amongst the Independent Schools in the Hunter, it is little wonder that staff and students are feeling very energised about the prospects of the year ahead.
A new academic year brings new opportunities for higher learning; for establishing new friendships; for pursuing new sport, recreational and outdoor interests; as well as for mastering new cultural and musical pursuits. It is also an opportunity for new beginnings as many of our Kindy children and parents recognise with their first day of school; as also for the Year 7 students stepping into the senior school environment. It reminds us that life is a cycle of new beginnings and new opportunities. Importantly, success is built on our resolve to take full advantage of such occasions.
Life can also bring with it unexpected twists and turns that will no doubt prove to be challenging for us through 2015. However, we are not alone for we are all challenged in different ways. We are not alone because there is the support of family, school and friends. Importantly, our faith in God can provide the basis for managing those challenging times because of His constant presence and care. Resilience is enhanced by the knowledge and experience of God in our lives.
I trust that the experience at Macquarie College in 2015 is one that continues to strengthen and enhance all those Christian values you hold closely as families. Importantly, we seek to work in close partnership with you to provide opportunities for your children to continue to grow, develop and mature into independent and responsible citizens who are held in highest regard.
