Macquarie College Junior School supports and encourages children to explore, strive for, and achieve their potential. All students have the opportunity to develop and widen their interests and skills through the Differentiated Curriculum as well as the Enrichment and Extension Program. The holistic approach to learning entails an understanding of how each child learns and how best to cater for children’s individual needs.
Book Buddies Program - Years 1 & 5

Curriculum content and teaching delivery are varied to cater for the different abilities and learning styles within the classes. The Junior School curriculum is organised into seven Key Learning Areas (KLAs). They include Religion, English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Creative and Performing Arts, and Physical Education, Health, and Personal Development.

Importantly, we believe the social, emotional, and spiritual development of the children is vital to the educative process and we therefore give high priority to these dimensions. We support the children in developing confidence and resilience by providing life-skills training through the Social Skills and Personal Development Program as well as the Chapel Program. These areas of the program assist the children in developing attributes such as friendship building, conflict resolution, and resilience.
