Collaborative Art in 5L

In the 1940s, Henri Matisse created a completely new art form by creating cut paper collages, often on a large scale, called gouaches découpés or ‘cut outs’. He often referred to this style of art as ‘painting with scissors’. Recently in 5L, each student was given one section of a large grid and were encouraged to work collaboratively with any students whose grid connected with theirs, thus creating a large-scale artwork like Henri Matisse, using only scissors, coloured paper, pins and glue. What an impressive and fun collaborative effort, well done 5L!
